Hi everyone, it's been a while.
Every year we lose a huge number of people on the roads of Russia, many of them become victims of accidents due to aggressive driving culture, poor-quality urban design and ignoring other road users. And cyclists remain the most vulnerable people on the road. So this summer we lost Edik (https://www.instagram.com/vestrabona /), and for all of us it is an irreparable loss.
This Sunday, 21.11, the "World Day of Remembrance of the victims of Road Accidents" is taking place, and this time we cannot pass it by. On this day, we will conduct a race to the places where cyclists died in order to draw attention to the problem of safety and infrastructure. It will consist of only three locations, although the full list of places of death in St. Petersburg is much longer.
We prepared this race together with the Let's Go-go cycling association (@nko_poshlipoehali), the guys are actively involved in the development of cycling and pedestrian infrastructure in St. Petersburg and are trying to make this city safer for everyone.
Meeting place, as in the days of the first Habitats:
Gogol Monument, Malaya Konyushennaya Street at 12.30;
Check-in starts at 13.00;
Important information for those who will travel with us for the first time. Our event is not a race and the average speed usually does not exceed 25 km.h. Be careful of others, do not cut each other off and do not interfere with other road users, drive in the maximum right position and be "obvious" to everyone who is following you.
