Zipp paid a lot of attention to various shapes and angles during the development of the Ergo 70. It got its name from the 70-millimeter dropout — it became shorter, relative to the old steering wheels, to compensate for the increased length of the last switch covers. The horizontal pipe is also flattened, for the sake of a place for hands to rest.
