It used to be better,
but now the brand has slipped
Myth or harsh truth?
Saving on materials for the sake of inflating production volumes, cheaper fittings and a drop in quality... A familiar story?
We recently received a very interesting review from our subscriber about modern Chrome Industries. The man was comparing his time-tested 2022 bag with a similar model from the new 2025 line.
The conclusion turned out to be disappointing: modern versions are no longer so elegant. The fabric feels thinner, and the famous indestructible fittings and locks have become noticeably simpler.
And we have a logical question: is this a one-time bad luck with a particular batch, a percentage of defects, or a global industry problem?
What happens to brands?
Is this a deliberate saving on materials in order to increase sales?
• An attempt to keep the old price tag by releasing cheaper product lines?
• Or is the quality of all products systematically declining?
Let's look at this issue in the comments!
Tell us about your real-life experience: which cycling, outdoor, or lifestyle brands in recent years, in your opinion, have really "slipped" and stopped costing their money, and who, on the contrary, keeps the bar?
Let's help each other make a choice and not waste money!
