Description
I loved my Epic 8 Expert MTB, but I was waiting for the purchase of a parking space for a new apartment, and therefore I had to sell it...
A month later, out of the blue, Specialized released the new Epic 9. Breaking the cycle, a year earlier than everyone expected.
In addition, people did not understand where better, because Epic 8 has already received all possible awards and received the best reviews among fans.
But, I hasten to pay tribute, Epic 9 has been released even more capable, lighter, stronger and blabla.
They increased the wheelbase, made the steering angle even more trailer-like, threw out the glove compartment and thereby made it lighter.
To be honest, at first Epic 9 didn't work for me due to its similarity to the World Cup, but after a couple of days I fell in love with it. And again, for good reason — the bike is now thundering in all reviews as the best XC in the world.
I really wanted it.
But then a new chapter began (and continues) for me — renovation. Then I said to myself: no new bikes until I finish the repair. Yes, I'm not naive.
I just cut off the thought of MTB. Here's the highway, grevel, racing, events — get high
But then one thing happened — they made the Krylatskaya MTB highway.
I was watching friends' stories from her, and I was just drooling. I really wanted to surf there.
The thought stuck in my head: "How can you live in such a beautiful place and be content only with highway rings?"
And it began — Avito, bike24, all sorts of TV channels - where can I find MTB?
It so happened that I have already persuaded myself to a simple option. Specialized Epic 7 EVO (top bike without a brain, unlike a simple Epic 7). In the minimum configuration.
Well, just like that — to breathe MTB in order
But, of course, I immediately thought about what to replace it with, and the budget was already going under 0.5 million again.
I think I should take it, but I hesitantly put it off, there are too many "buts" in it.
And then bam — I find a new Epic 8 Expert on Avito in my size and priced for free. Exactly the same one that I sold six months ago. So I immediately forgot about my promise not to buy new bikes and immediately wrote to the seller. He calls TG to upload a video, and he's like, "I think I know you."
In the end, it turned out to be my friend Serega from OpenCycle.
It turns out that he posted this bike on his TG. I was overjoyed and threw him the whole amount.
However, the delivery took a little longer than expected — 1.5 months. instead of 1.
But I had a lot to do on the highway at that time.
The bike came completely in factory stickers, in a complete set (even in the glove compartment bag there was a branded multitool and repair kit).
In perfect condition. It feels like I won the lottery.
So thanks to Sergey again for the delivery.
And now I'm wildly addicted to MTB and I'm already thinking about upgrades.
